The Coco Wolf team are delighted to share that our Therese Chair has been shortlisted for the Chair Award in the Product Design Categories within the International Design & Architecture Awards 2017.
A comfortable yet sophisticated silhouette, the Therese Chair is Coco Wolf’s take on a traditional arm chair and is ideal for dining or occasional seating. It is a delightfully chic addition to any outdoor space. It has a small foot-print without compromising on the comfort and for that reason is a very popular design for marine projects or hospitality venues. Elegant lines of this chair look great with contrasting pattern or colour fabric on the back or contrast piping to add a point of difference.
The awards see interior designers and architects from around the world compete for in 39 categories from individual product categories to overall design categories by project value.
design et al awards are different to other design awards as they are not judged by a panel. Shortlisted projects are presented online, and voting is open to industry professionals as well as design et al readers and clients. Around 44,000 votes were cast during 4 weeks prior to the ceremony last year. It is exciting to see a peer-based awards and a unique opportunity to receive recognition within the industry.
Our Creative Director Rebecca Le Noel speaks about why it’s great to bring the spotlight on the fact that outdoor furniture does not have to compromise on style or comfort of its indoor counterparts:
“It’s been an exciting and challenging journey to change people’s perception of what can be designed for the outdoors. We worked on a principle of ‘what is available indoors can be replicated outdoors’ when we designed and developed our collections.
Fully upholstered, inner sprung and hand crafted it meets the most rigorous demands of the contract market and we have had many happy clients ranging from venues under the Dubai or Texan sun to rainy London’s Private members clubs.
It is very exciting that our Therese Chair is the first of it’s kind to be shortlisted for the Award and we hope that we have a few more converts!”
